Where boats move in Florida
The southeast corridor from Palm Beach through Fort Lauderdale to Miami is the center of the industry worldwide — yards, riggers, brokers and travel lifts sized for anything, and truck access that's been engineered for exactly this work. Stuart and the Treasure Coast are the sportfish capital and a common northern terminus for Bahamas-bound boats.
The west coast is quieter and just as capable: Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Punta Gorda and Naples, with big storage yards inland from the water and easy access off I-75. The Panhandle — Pensacola, Destin, Panama City — runs its own market with a shorter, more seasonal calendar. Jacksonville and the St. Johns cover the northeast, and the Keys are their own case: US-1 is the only road in, with narrow bridges and restrictions that make an oversize move a scheduled event.
Hurricane season, June through November, sits over all of it. Boats get moved inland and north ahead of storms, and yards fill within hours of a forecast track. The owners who have somewhere to go are the ones who arranged it in the spring.

Northbound peaks in April and May, southbound in October and November — the same migration the Carolinas and the Chesapeake see from the other side. I-95 and I-75 carry nearly all of it, and Florida's per-trip oversize permits are routine and quickly issued.
Because Florida is where boats are bought as well as kept, a large share of the moves we handle here are post-purchase deliveries: a boat sold in Fort Lauderdale and trucked to New Jersey, Long Island or the Chesapeake. Those are one-way runs and price best when they backfill a truck already headed that direction, which is worth asking about.
Where a hull is not worth the cost of the haul, donating the boat is a cleaner exit than trucking it somewhere to sit again.

Florida questions
Yes, with planning. US-1 is the only route, bridge and lane widths are tight, and oversize loads travel in permitted windows — so Keys moves are booked with more lead time than anywhere else in the state.
It compresses everything. Once a storm has a track, lift slots and inland yard space go in a day. Arrange a plan in May or June and it's a phone call instead of a scramble.
A one-way run that backfills a truck already heading north, usually in April and May. Ask about flexible pickup dates; a two- or three-day window is often worth a real discount.
