Four numbers and two addresses. Length overall, beam at the widest point, height from the keel to the highest fixed point, and weight. Then the pickup and delivery locations — name the marina or boatyard, not just the town.
Accurate dimensions are what make a quote a real cost rather than an estimate. Guessed numbers produce a price that changes on move day.
- Length, beam, height. Over 8’6” of beam is an oversize load; around 12’ adds escorts and real cost.
- Weight, honestly. Dry weight plus fuel, water and gear. A full 100-gallon tank is 650 pounds.
- Both addresses by name. The last mile is where surprise charges come from.
- Who lifts it. Whether your yard handles haul-out and load, or water launch works.
- Your window. A three-day range prices better than a fixed date, every time.
Before you send it
Boats travel under contract and we supply the preparation instructions in advance. Our drivers are professional transporters, not boat preppers — prep is yours or your yard’s. A boat at 65 mph into a 15 mph headwind is in hurricane-force conditions, and anything not secured for that will not survive the trip.
If the boat has been sitting for years and the quote is climbing past what it would sell for, boat donation is worth considering before you book.
